How to Leverage Small Wins Into Massive Results

If you have a tendency to focus on the negative, you’re not alone. I want to share with you how to leverage small wins into massive results.

We are the sum of our thoughts, and it is important to remember that negative self-talk will only make it more difficult for you to achieve the desired results.

Our actions are 100% of the time determined by our beliefs, the words we use, and the words we choose. So if we believe that losing our belly fat is hard … or tell ourselves, “I’ve never been able to stay consistent with an exercise program …” then our thoughts and actions are going to be completely aligned with those beliefs.

And lo and behold, when you’ve got the same disappointing results you’ve always gotten, your brain will say, “See? I told you so!”

It’s called a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I encourage you to take a hard look at the patterns you find yourself in and build a strategy to stop falling into this trap.

The truth is, this is not helping.

The solution starts with the conversations and negotiations you have with yourself. How do you reward your accomplishments, especially the small ones? How do you “punish” yourself when you miss a target or do something contrary to your plan?

Focus on the positives and construct patterns that reward and build on success. This includes celebrating all of your wins, no matter how small.

A long-term accomplishment would be, “I lost 30 pounds!” That’s certainly an achievement worth celebrating, but it’s not going to happen today.

And you never would’ve lost the 30th pound if you hadn’t lost the first one. 

So my advice for today is not to focus on the destination. Instead, focus on the process … the small daily improvements that add to big, sustainable results.

But now you know it does.

A lot.
